Clients describe the Sammamish session room at Sammamish Reflexology

as a "sanctuary" - a perfect place to relax and let stress float away.

What to expect during a session

Prior to your first session I will email and ask you to complete a client intake form with medical history information and bring it with you to your first session.  When you arrive we will discuss the information on your form and your goals not only for the current session, but also for the longer term. From this information I will formulate a session plan. I will then ask you to place your feet in a relaxing foot soak with aromatherapy essential oils. The therapeutic properties of the oils enhance your session and I will also start reflexology work on you feet in the water.

After I have dried your feet, you can get comfortable on my reflexology table and cover yourself with a blanket to keep you warm. If it is uncomfortable for you to lie flat on your back, I also have a reflexology chair. Soothing music will play and aromatherapy oils will scent the room whilse I continue with your session, starting with Reiki and moving onto reflexology on the hands, feet or ears.

I will send you away with 'homework'. This may involve working on reflex points on your hands or ears, stretching and strengthening exercises for foot and lower leg muscles, or a referral to another caregiver. We will also discuss the recommended frequency of further sessions to reach your goals.

For the first 24 hours following a session, you may feel very relaxed, energized or have a feeling of euphoria.  Reactions will vary from person to person and may include a heavy head, headache, aching limbs or an increased need to visit the bathroom. All these reactions are normal and the result of toxins being released into your system. Increasing your intake of water may be helpful in reducing these symptoms. Emotional releases such as agitation, anger, anxiety, tears or laughter are also normal. Try to allow time to rest the day of your session.

A few days after your session, I will email to see how you're doing. The positive effects of your session should continue to manifest themselves over a period of days following a session.
